Lihir Island is home to the fifth largest gold mine in the world, the Lihir Gold project.Since 1994, NCS has provided complete and comprehensive camp managementand catering for the group’s largest operation.

Working on the remote island of Lihir, with all the challenges that this entails, NCS continues to successfully fulfill all of Lihir Gold’s camp and catering needs.

Lihir Camp Profile:

• 3 residential camp, facilities and services for over 3000 LGL mine employees and camp residents
• Food services and catering for three meals a day for over 2,000 camp residents, 1,200 day workers and 500 NCS staff
• Managing a community club that includes a comprehensive food, beverage, and leisure facilities operation.
• Corporate Catering for Lihir Gold’s VIP events and the town residents’ comprehensive social calendar.

Facilities include:

• 3 Messes and 3 wet messes
• Social Club
• Sporting facilities such as basketball, tennis, gym and football field
• Housekeeping and Laundry
• Bakery, Deli, shop and canteen

Campsite Design and construction:

• NCS designed and built an additional 100 man camp for LGL on Lihir Island
• NCS completed the construction of a 400 man camp on Lihir Island
