NCS Safety Policy

NCS is committed to the prevention of injury to and ill health of our employees and the continual improvement in our Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) management.

The following points summarize NCS’ corporate commitment to health and safety:

  • We aim to ensure that all of our workplaces are safe for all interested stakeholders, including employees, contractors and visitors;
  • We shall achieve this by ensuring that all relevant legislative and contractual requirements to which we subscribe, as related to our OH&S hazards, are adhered to by all staff at all time;
  • It is our goal to have zero lost time injuries and any work related injury that requires treatment by a medical doctor;
  • We shall establish measurable objectives and continually improve our practices and processes in order to achieve these objectives;
  • Our documented management system shall form the basis for all operations undertaken by the management and representatives of the company and it provides the framework for setting and reviewing our OH&S objectives;
  • All employees shall report unsafe conditions and/or hazards to their supervisors promptly;
  • All staff shall promptly report all injuries/incidents and work related diseases;
  • All employees shall actively participate in our health and safety process and attend all required health and safety training;
  • All personnel shall follow safe work instructions and assist in the prevention of OH&S injuries.
  • All NCS Managers and Supervisors are committed to take ownership of their areas of responsibility by ensuring that they initiate the following important activities:
  • Communicate this policy to all employees under their control so they are aware of their individual OH&S obligations and it also should be made available to interested parties;
  • Review the policy periodically to ensure it remains relevant and appropriate to NCS’ operations;
  • Accept direct responsibility and accountability for all matters relating to health and safety for the employees and/or contractors they supervise directly and/or indirectly;
  • Deal promptly with employees’ health and safety concerns and advise employees of actual and potential hazards that are known by them;
  • Maintain and ensure transfer of knowledge of all duties and obligations under all relevant legislation, client requirements and NCS policies and procedures;
  • Ensure that employees use personal protective equipment as prescribed in addition to following all safety procedure and practices;
  • Provide appropriate training in the use of equipment, safe work practices and procedures and handling of hazardous materials;
  • Ensure that all contractors, suppliers, vendors and other visitors adhere to all NCS policies and procedures;
  • Investigate or assist in incident investigations and perform workplace inspections;
  • Review any incident investigation and facilitate the corresponding corrective action plan;
  • Take every other reasonable precaution to protect employees;
  • Implement and enforce health and safety rules, regulations, policies, procedures and prescribed instructions in a fair and consistent manner.
